If you have had a recent X-ray or blood tests you may telephone Reception on 01803 844566 to be advised of the results. If those results are unclear you may ask to be put through to a doctor for more expert interpretation and further advice.Please note that where tests have been requested by hospital doctors the results are not always made available to us until the time of your next outpatient appointment.
A variety of tests that can be performed either at the surgery or on behalf of the surgery. There is a variety of timescales that these different tests will be reported on. Generally a result will be available within five days.
Your GP may contact you with the result if he/she needs to see you for further treatment. However, it is possible that the GP will leave a message or information for you when you ring in for your result or come in to the surgery. If you wish to contact us for a result, please telephone reception during normal surgery hours but after 10am. Our phone lines are usually quieter in the afternoons.
We only give results to the named patient (over 16) or a parent or guardian if the patient is under 16. Please note that X-Ray results will take a minimum of two weeks but may take three weeks or more. Some results such as Cervical Cytology are always notified by post. These are currently taking 6 to 8 weeks to report.
